Kitchenaid gas cooktop lighting problems
My Kitchen Aid 5-burner gas cooktop does not light up properly. When starting the sparking procedure, it takes a number fo attempts before the burner finally lights. Once the burner lights, all other burners light with no problem. This happens when I choose any of the five burners to light up first. When holding a match to the unlit burner during the sparking process, I do seem to have very low pressure gas flow, as the burner lights up in the low pressure "protected mode" (i.e., just a small flame). I'm thinking that there may be a problem with the Maxitrol pressure regulator. Note that my outdoor barbeque and gas fireplace both fire up with no problems so I know there is no pressure problem in the gas line itself. Any ideas on what may be the problem?

Hi,
Whats the model#? It does sound like you have a problem with your regulator in your range.

Kitchenaid gas cooktop lighting problems
It is the KGCS166GSS series. I don't have the numeric code following the "GSS" designation but it is the 36 inch "stainless steel" model sold by Lowe's.
