Default Kitchenaid Diswasher Replacement, & Parts Question, Please

Hi,

Always something, I guess.

Anyway, we have a fairly old Kitchenaid built-in dishwasher Model KUDS24SE.

The soap dish latching lever broke, and it seems quite impractical to epoxy it back on.
Was amazed to see that the parts places on the web want about $135 for a new one. Wow! Couldn't believe it. Are there any places selling this part for perhaps something around $ 50.00 ?

So, it seems reasonable, I guess, to consider just getting a new one, as probably something else will go shortly due to its age (do you agree ?).

Haven't looked at these things in quite some time, so would like to ask the following, please:

Is Kitchenaid still considered a "quality brand ?
Which other brands would you consider ?

More importantly, which should we stay away from ?

Which Kitchenaid model would be closest now to what we already have, which we like ?

It has a S.S. tub; do they still offer these ?
Are the enameled insides on some models pretty good, also ?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Yes, I agree completely.

KitchenAid is a very good quality dishwasher. They still make the stainless steel tub for it.

They have pretty much discontinued the enameled tubs, They just have the plastic and stainless steel now.

Go to Sears or Best Buy and look at the floor models, they both have a very good selection.
