Question Kitchen Aid Oven - KEBS107DWH - Error Code F5 E7

After cleaning, the door will not release. The "door locked" indication is on.

When this happened before, the repair shop had us turn off the power breaker to the oven and it is our recollection that this fixed the problem.

This time that does not work and the same repair store, different person, has had us try to manually "hook" the catch and pull it open with a coat hanger (I ended up using an Allen wrench) - all to no avail. It seems completely locked closed.

I see from earlier posts that this usually means you need a new lock mechanism, but how do we get it open in the meantime?

You would need to remove the control panel to get to it. You should see screws in the front that hold it in place, unplug/turn breaker off to your oven first.
