When my wife bakes, the lower oven element will heat up and act normal for awhile, but after a period will turn off and never heat up again. The problem is intermittent. I checked the element and it shows about 30 ohms so I think it is good, especially since it will glow red when first turned on. Any ideas - do I need a new control panel or temperature sensor?

It sounds like your control board is starting to go out.
Here is a new one for your model: (click photo for pricing/ordering information): Jake
