Default LG reduces pay rates to warranty service providers?

Unsucessful in locating a service tech willing to work on a virtually new LG Dishwasher under warranty, I learned LG recently reduced their pay rates to providers of warranty service on their consumer units.

Such being the case, it's appropriate to encourage LG to sell their units elsewhere, besides the US market, by not buying them. We don't need their business and this is not the third world.

Yup, your exactly right Tony!

LG tried to get me to sign-up to do there warranty work in our area here in Oregon, and their pay rate for warranty work is ridiculous, I told them that and refused to sign up with them.

Default The way to deal with it

The good news is that I believe Home Depot where I bought it has a thirty day return policy, free deilvery, installation and prior unit removal. I'll simply go buy another dishwaher, have the broken LG unit delivered back to Home Depot so they can repair it there. Then pay to have my now repaired unit reinstalled when I return the new one back to them.

A few of those nationwide and they'll get the message.

Yea Tony, most appliance stores have a full 30 day return policy.

I went to our local Best Buy here and there getting lots of LG's back, they have no one in our area to service these units. So they will finely see the light when they wonder why their bottom line is "out of line". So they will either have to pay their servicer's more money for warranty work or find themselves like Maytag getting bought out by Whirlpool, which knows how to pay their servicer's properly.

LG is better off sticking to making cell phones.

Who, in your opinion has the best rates for warranty among the major home appliances manufacturers, and do you weight those rates against other considerations such as parts availability, ease of filing warranty claims, etc.?

BBY has their own technicians in most markets to service all the home appliance brands they sell. In areas where they do not have in-house coverage, they typically default to the N.E.W. network of servicers since N.E.W. is their third party extended warranty administrator and partially owned by BBY (even before the acquisition of N.E.W. by Service Bench, which BBY also holds a piece of).

If BBY and N.E.W. both are having trouble finding servicers for a particular part of the country on LG appliances, it is either very remote, or LG is very unattractive.

mine pay 1/2hr min, 1/4ly thereafter + $1 mile r/t(once). dont really want to drop names, good on parts >6yrs, tech helps been sloppy- wrong info, parts #'s, clueless at times. mostly reliable products with usual run of minor issues, good cust. service, some free parts out of warranty, online billing for most. could picked couple brands for job security, but rather not work that hard. servicebench is always calling to dump customers on me and i don't bother calling them back. i was thinking of buying an LG lcd tv(ultimately to work less), but not sure now.

Lg has been pretty good to us, in fact they raised our rates with out us even asking about it. But, the worst thing about Lg is dealing with accounting when ordering parts. They can't seem to get it right, so they hold parts even though we have paid and customers don't get fixed in a timely manor.
