Exclamation msd2756GES

Hi all, My 3 yr old frig & freezer work fine. Ice & water through the door works fine. My problems are frozen water puddle on the freezer floor & water leaking outside on the left back corner floor. It seems that the duct/grate on the rear freezer wall has a frozen water trail coming out of it,probably my puddle source.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Cody S.

Hi,

Sounds like the defrost drain has clogged up on you. You can take that rear freezer panel off and defrost the drain trough, then run something down the drain to clear it, I use 1/4" plastic water line tubing. Then run hot water down that drain , to make sure it flows down good to the drain pan.

Thumbs up Killer diagnosis

You are on it !!! The drain was froze shut. Cleared it & I'm good to go.
Just wondering why it froze, There was no debris in the tube when I blew compressed air through it. Too cold or warm of a setting? Maybe while putting in groceries & leaving the door open too long ?

Thanks for all the help

Hello Jake. I too have the Maytag MSD2756GES, and noticed in the freezer side (left), when I pull out the last(bottom) basket, there is a greted vent behind. I heard a "sizzling" noise which led me to this location. Just behind the grate, I could see an orange glow which looks to be a coil heating up (similar to that in an oven). Cause of the noise, seems to be melting water hitting this coil! Is this normal operation, something to prevent condensation? Your time to review my post is appreciatd, thanks!

Yes, thats perfectly normal, the auto-defrost is just defrosting the evaporator coil behind that panel, the orange glow is the heater.
