Default Maytag dishwasher drips from air vent.

Hi,
Maytag Jetclean Model Number: DWU7300AAX.

All of a sudden, during the wash cycle about one teaspoon of water dips out from the air vent onto the floor. I'm certain that the water is coming from the vent and not the door seal.

Is this a know issue, and is there an easy fix?

Thanks.

Hi,

When you open and close the door do you hear a small sound like a snap or flap? Its possible your inner door vent flapper is stuck or broken.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
DWU7300AAX
Diagram#3 Part location#9 is your inner door liner.

Thanks Jake.
When opening the door I don't hear a flap sound. Looking at the vent opening on the inside of the washer door it looks like the flap is stuck open or broken!

I'm gonna take apart the door to have a better look. Is the best way to get to the flap by way of removing the inner door panel or removing the front panel?

Thanks Jake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remove the inner door panel screws and it releases that inner door panel.

Thanks Jake,

I got the inner pannel off. Interesingly, there is no flap in this unit. There is a just plastic chute the channels the air to the vent on the outer door. I'm perpelxed now.

The only thing I could think of now is that this stated happening after we put in a new hot water heater. Maybe the water is too hot and is condensing on the outside vent and dripping down? Or maybe the unit is heating the water too much? Or maybe something else all together?

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Yes, possibly your water is to hot, if you have a thermometer, you can see what the water temp. is. Normal should be about 130.
