Jenn Air Oven turns off during preheat
My Jenn Air single wall oven shuts off during the preheat cycle. I can post the Model Number when I get home. Here are the symptoms:
- When entering bake, broil, convection or clean, the oven asks for the temp (or time in case of clean)
- I can set the temperature and the preheat indicator is shown on the display
- The appropriate element(s) heat up
- Within several seconds, a relay clicks off (sounds abnormal, like a real quick buzz)
- Several seconds later the oven display goes back to the time only
How I get it to work in bake mode (but will also work for other modes):
- Press Bake
- Enter Temperature
- When I hear the abnormal relay click/buzz, press Bake and set temp again
- I have gotten good at distinguishing between the good relay click of the upper and lower element relays (duty cycle dependent on mode)
- After fiddling for about 5 minutes with this, the oven gets up to temp and will work fine
I have the wiring diagram and suppose the problem could be the main PCB relay (DLB). But I also suppose it could be the control board that tells the relay to close.
The sensor checks out okay.
I haven't jumpered the high limit switch.
Questions:
- Suggestions on how to troubleshoot further?
- If it is the relay, any ideas on where to find a replacement part? The Part Number is T91P1D22-18F07

Hi,
Yes, we would need the model# to check and see if we can get you a service manual for it online.
Its probably going to be very hard to locate the relay itself, you'll likely need the complete board assembly.

There should be a B or B-C or W or W-C after the 0 at the end of your model#.
I couldn't locate a service manual online.
Here's the relay board for your model:

The Model Number is W2780W.
I'm trying to figure out how to test whether the relay is the culprit without spending $150 on a new board.
Can you tell what the coil voltage is on the DLB relay so I can find a suitable 30A 240VAC substitute?

I wish I could, but without a wiring diagram/repair manual for this unit, I don't know.
If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund when you return them.
