I have a Neptune electric dryer, model #MDE4000AYW. I noticed that the normal intelli sense dry cycle and the wrinkle free cycle doesn't heat up. It started about 3 days ago.
If I set it to the timed cycle it heats up and dries just fine to completion. I also noticed that the moisture sensor will only light up on the timed cycle but not when the other two drying cycles are used. The sensor appears to be functioning properly on the timed cycle. I have checked the vent and all is clear. The element seems to be fine since it always works on the timed cycle. Where should I go from here?

Yes, I agree with Bam, its likely the timer.
Whats the serial# of your dryer? as they make 2 different timers for your model. Jake

Thank you for the repies. The serial number is 10624775WD. Can it be something as simple as bad contacts that could just be cleaned or is this a sealed/electronic type part requiring complete replacement?

Thanks Tim,
The timer is sealed . You would just need to install a new timer. Here's the timer for your model you can order: Manufacturer's Number: 33001730 If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund when you return them. Jake
