Hi,
I have a Maytag MDB7100 and I can see what it looks like in the diagram, but I'm still at a loss for how to remove the top and bottom arm. They are completely plugged up and I need to clean them... Thanks, Alan |

Lower one, unscrew off the center nut (#34), lift out pop up nozzle (#1) and lift straight up to remove the arm. ![]() jeff.

Hi,
Thanks, I got the two arms pulled out and they were caked with deposits from hard water. I got both of them mostly cleaned up. When are the arms supposed to move? If I set them into one position and let it run, they stay in the same spot... Thanks, Alan |

Hi,
I put some Dishwasher Magic in it and it is running now. The top arm is now spinning and I can see water spraying all over the place when I open it in the wash cycle, so that is an improvement. The bottom arm doesn't look like it is moving to me. Is it supposed to move from the water pressure like the top one? Thanks, Alan |

Hi,
I had it tore down to part #4. How do I get it off? Do I need to remove that screw #5? Thanks for your help, I truly appreciate it! Alan |

Hi,
I got #4 off once I removed the 3 screws and #6 came with it. What about #7? Do I need to remove the nylon torx looking screw to get it out as well? Thanks, Alan |

Hi Jeff,
I got the #4, #6, #7 off and wow what a mess of scale. I used my pressure washer on it (I have found more uses for that thing!) and cleared off all the scale without too much work. I thought the mesh on the top of the filter #4 was some sort of metal so I blasted them with the pressure washer before I realized they were a mesh, but I didn't get any holes in it even though I hit it hard. There are still a couple large pieces of scale that were too big to exit the #4 so I just left them in there for now. I put it back together and it sounds like it did when it was new, both arms are going around and water is spraying around in there like crazy. Thanks for the help and quick responses, I appreciated it!!! Alan |
