Default Ice Maker

I have a Maytag MSD2756AEW S/S.......... recently the ice maker is making a loud noise when I push for ice..... I believe it may be coming from the little door that the ice comes out...... any ideas???

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes, sounds like the solenoid either sticking or malfunctioning due to a bad control board, seems to me i remember i had a rash of these in the late 90's that did exactly the same thing.

Here is a link that should give more info and parts breakdown photo's:

Thanks Jake....

Seems strange that this popped up....... right after I replaced the Defrost Adaptive Board........

Could these somehow be related?

Thanks,
Rex

Thats a good question, but it shouldn't have, its very ironic that it happened after you replaced that adaptive defrost board.

Hey, I also now have problems with our MSD2756AEW side by side fridge ice dispenser after the defrost board was replaced (to the tune of a $245.00 service call).

The motor at the rear of the ice dispenser is not going on. The chute door opens but the ice is not forced into the chute b/c the motor appears to not be getting enough power. I tested the motor by hooking it up directly to 120 volt AC and ran fine. It turns very hard by hand tho. I also tested the line leads to the motor with a meter (at the back of the fridge). It started to work for a few days... and when it worked the leads to the motor were getting 120 volts. However now it is not working again and again the motor is geting only about 15-20 volts when the dispensor is activated.

I think something is wrong with one of the control boards at the front of the door. But there are two. One has switches for cubed, crushed and water and a lock. This appears to be working fine, as the right LEDs go on and the water is working.

A few years ago I replaced the control board (pn 61003425) once before when the light would not go on in the dispenser.

Has it died again or is something else gone?

Next question... the white metal door itself is starting to rust at the bottom of the icemaker/water dispenser. What is up with this? !

Hi,

Sounds like the dispenser board is bad again, its rare it would go out 2 times.

More Help can be found and you can ask the RepairGuru as well.
