Thread: [FIXED] Oven won't heat all the way up

Hi,

Thats odd, the new bake element should have fixed it.

You'll likely need to pull your range out then take off the back access panel and test for 240 volts with the volt meter probes on the 2 bake element terminals with the oven on.

If your not getting 240 volts then the electronic clock control board is bad.

You might also check your circuit breakers. When the bake element went out it might have tripped half the breaker and the range is only getting 110VAC. Are the surface elements working ok?

These maytag ovens often have oven control problems after the bake elements burn up.

I would guess that every one in ten that I have seen with a bad bake element I also end up replacing the oven control/clock too.

Did you read the voltage coming into the range terminal block in the back with a volt meter, where your power cord hooks up to the range?

I am having problems getting the bake setting on my maytag T1 to work. The ignitor seems to be working but when you set the oven to bake it never heats up. No gas it seems is being allowed in to the tube. The broiler does work though and I think the self clean. I shut the breaker off the stove with the hopes that something may have needed to be reset but that didn't work. Please advise, it would be most appreciated. The stove is 11 years and I think that it has been a gradual problem over the past 2 years according to my wife.
