Default MayTag MSD2758DRW frozen feeder hose for icemaker

Hello,
MayTag MSD2758DRW
serial # 10546520YH

The feeder hose inside my freezer that feeds the ice maker has been freezing up and causing the water line on the back/outside of the frige to blow off due to the pressure and leak on the floor. This has been an on going issue when the weather gets hot. It can get up to 85 in my house. This is a dry heat in the Sacramento California area. My ice maker just stopped working too.I will not dispense ice and also noticed when i have the bail flipped up in the off position the under side of the ice dispenser is -7 degrees and when the bail is in the down position it gets warm. I once put my finger on it and got burnt.

Thank you

Hi,

Its possibly a bad ice maker. Are the ejector blades turning when you have the bail arm down(on)?

What position is the ejector blades at? pointing straight up, down, 3'oclock, 9'oclock?

Feel inside your ice maker for cubes, are there any? full? half full? overfull?

Here's the ice maker for your model, in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer's Number: D7824706Q

The blades are at 2 o'clock. There are cubes in the icemaker which have not been ejected. I think the water was put in there from me using hot water to melt the ice in dispenser tube. The actual icemaker just stopped working the other day. As far as the tube freezing up this has been an ongoing issue for a couple years. Do you think there in any relation or two seperate problems?

Also, is there any type of diaphram where the tube goes through the back of the freezer? Is the rubber piece that is on the back of the freezer one piece meaning is that tube part of that? Kind of hard to describe.

Thanks

You may have to separate problems then.

Yes, if your pull your refrigerator out from the wall, you should see the water line going up to the ice maker on the back, then it connects into the tube. Not enough water pressure usually makes that tube freeze up.

Thats why its important to feel inside your ice maker cube slots to make sure all are filled.

You may need to order the ice make since its not cycling the ice out.

I ended up removing the icemaker and melting the ice in the feeder tube attached to the back of the freezer. I let the icemaker sit out for a day to dry out. I put it back together and we are making ice again.

I am almost sure the i will still have the frozen water feeder tube freeze up again. How do i fix that?

A couple things will make that inlet tube freeze,

1. Like I said is low water pressure.

2. A very small leak in your water inlet valve, thats letting water accumulate in that tube and freezing.

Here's the cheapest price I found on your water inlet valve:
