Default Maytag PYE3300AYW Electric with intermittent heat

Dryer started to only heat intermittently a few days ago. It seems to work on one cycle and then not on the next few. My wife figured out that if you move the temp control knob to air fluff and then back to heat it seems to cause the dryer to heat on that cycle. Sounds like the switch could be faulty but I want to be sure before ordering a new one.

Hi,

That definitely sounds like the problem.

Its very inexpensive, here's the temp. switch for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 31001447

If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund when you return them.

Default Jake, need your assistance please

The new switch came in today and I think it might be the wrong one unless the style has slightly changed. The number on the back of the old switch is 53-3533 ASR4367-217T and on the new switch the number is 53-3576 ASR4373-513T.

Also, the connections are slightly different. Both switches have a total of 5 connections(red wire top, blue wire bottom left, yellow bottom right, and two bottom center for the capacitor). The difference is that on the old switch the left center capacitor connection is connected to the blue wire connector, whereas, on the new switch it is a separate connection that disappears into the switch.

Is this the wrong part?
