Default Neptune MAH5500BWW won't start...

...and the control panel is dark, no lights or codes. There is power to the plug and the light comes on when you open the door.

Pressing start does nothing. Banging the door to check the latch nada.
No mater what we do there's no lights or codes on the touch panel.

Everything I've seen on the web talks about the wax motor and burned out components on the motherboard. Well I don't even get that far.
I looked at the motherboard and there are no burned components. I actually don't have the same board that is shown on other web sites.

It just seems dead.

Help please.

Hi,

Sounds like your control panel assembly went out.

There should be a tech. data sheet inside your control panel console you can diagnose it with.

On these models, the common parts to go out for the issue is the control panel and main control board.

Whats the serial# of your washer?

Here's the control panel for your model:
Manufacturer part number 22003238 is RepairClinic item number 824620
22003238

Jake,
I'm at work and but will post the SN when I get home.
If the control panel had failed I would think that the Center LED display would still work. It's on the control board and independent of the touch panel.
I have the tech sheet out of the cover but it's kind of hard to trouble shoot when the failure is no power at the control board i.e. no display.

Normally when you open the door of this beast the display comes on. I get nothing.

Maybe the door latch assembly?

Even if the door latch assembly is bad, it still should show at least some lights working in the control panel.

This may be difficult to diagnose, as this is something I don't see everyday happen.

What you can do is order both the control panel and control board(once you post your serial#) then return the one you don't need for a full refund.

Cool, I'll order that, the latch assembly and go from there replacing the least expensive part first. I have the manual in pdf from Maytag. I'll let you know how it goes. Kevin

Jake, I installed the control board first and it now seems to be working. I'm running the first load now to see what's what. Kevin
