MAH5500BWW Issues
My parents have a Maytag MAH5500BWW. The issue is on going and I am not sure what it could be.
This is the problem, at the last cycle it will not drain or spin. It is a hit and miss thing but mostly miss.
I cracked it open today and did not find and bad wiring. There are no error messages that appear. The lines are not clogged.
I tested the lid switch. I opened the door and held in the button and it gave me the OD (open door). Closed the door and it works fine.
I ran three test on it. I did the rinse cycle which takes about 12 mins., I did the light soil twice.
Rinse cycle started at 12 mins, filled with water and that is it, it did not spin or drain. I seemed to be last or out of time.
Did the light soil with a light load and it started at 43 mins like normal and it agitated (spin back and forth), around the 30 min mark it did spin and drain. It did that till it got to the end around 8 or 7 minutes, and it did spin and drain and finished like normal, load was stuck to the side and not wet.
I did the same thing (cycle and load amount) second time. It got down to the 8 min mark and just danced around the 7 - 8 min mark. did not spin or drain.
When it does spin , it spins, and when it drains it does drain.
I am not for sure where to take it from here, should I start replacing parts?
Thank you,
David

Sorry Jake I did not get the Serial # yet, going back over there today. But I did do all the service testing and it past everything and did everything. Does that mean anything?

Yes, the control board.
99% of the time its just the control board, but I had one were it fooled me and it was the control panel. So you can order both and return the one you don't need for a full refund if you want.
