Whats the model# of your dishwasher? Its located inside the dishwasher on the top frame or inside the tub.

I should have posted that in the original post, MDBH970AWS. The pump has a polly/rubber flapper on the inlet & the outlet. The inlet flappers look fine the outlet is not "damaged" but it does not close all the way either, even when you rotate it vertically so gravity could pull it closed Just guessing it is 1/8" or more. Just guessing as the pump seems strong, pressure wise considering it is not a really tight tolerance due to the requirement it carry out any bits of food.

Seems they have upgraded the drain pump, and a new drain pump should fix yours as well.

Its the exact same drain pump as yours, you can order it here:

I found that post too. Guess I am having a hard time believing it is the pump. I am stuburn, at least that is hat the wife tells me... At this point a $43 pump is looking good. I am tired of thinking about this darn thing. :-)

I received my parts today & installed them. All except for the the door latch handle, darned if it is not the correct one... Oh well my fault, $5 lesson. :-) Will need to order the complete latch assembly.

After getting the new pump installed I do not think there was anything wrong with the old one, guess I have a spare now! :-) Why do I think the old one was OK??? GLad you asked! I guess I was paying closer attention when testing the new pump Keep in mind I have not run a complete cycle but I canceled the wash & initiated the 2 min drain cycle. I noticed just before the drain cycle stopped that there was water being pumped back into the tub, opened the door & sure enough it was gushing back in!!! I did the same test again & opened the door before the drain cycle was over, dry as a bone with NO water re-entering from the drain hose. So I closed the door & let the drain cycle finish. Opened the door & sure enough there was water in the bottom!

After the drain cycle is there supposed to be water pumped into the dishwasher??? I would think not at this would be asking for mod to grow... I must assume that the control board is going bad?.?.?.

Hi Mike,

The one that is for your model# depends what your serial# is. Please post your serial# and I will tell which one you need.
