Default Maytag Performa PYGT244AWW not heating

I've lurked on the board here about trying to figure out what the problem could be,but I need professional answers.

1.Does not heat.Blows cold air.

2.Removed front cover, there was some lint build up,cleaned that area.

3.Removed exhaust from back and report no blockage.

4.I currently do have an ohm meter, but need to know what I should test and what numbers these item(s) tested should range.Should I test with or without the dryer plugged in?

5.With the front cover off and the door switch engaged, there is an orange glow/flame(can't tell if it is the glow bar igniter or an actual flame due to the housing around it.)

6.It's noisy as hell so I know I need a blower wheel,so along with ordering the wheel I would like to order the other parts necessary.

Thank you for any and all help.It is appreciated.

Shawn

Hi Shawn,

I would first ohm your flame sensor for continuity, If no continuity, then thats the bad part.

Unplug your dryer first!

You can get a cheap volt/ohm meter at Radio Shack if don't have one.

Here's the flame sensor, it mounts on the side of your gas burner tube:
Manufacturer part#338906 is RepairClinic item#2681
338906

Do you hear any clicking noises when the dryer first comes on to heat?

Here's the blower wheel for your model you can order:
Manufacturer part number 31001317 is RepairClinic item number 487770
31001317

First touch the ohm meter probes together it should read 0 ohms, thats continuity. Look for the ohm meter to say 0 ohms on the flame sensor terminals(take the wires off the flame sensor first), if it does, then its good, thats continuity.

Report back what you find.
