Default Maytag Dryer, no heat

Maytag dryer model number Model LDE9306ACE
S/N 10643575QW

OK, so I had to move my dryer yesterday so that I could replace my main panel in my house. I moved it back and this morning turned it on and had no heat.
I never bumped it hard and only had to move it a few feet out of the way.
Is the heater element that sensitive?

It sounds like possibly your terminal block(were your power cord connects to your dryer) is either loose or something shorted out there. Unplug your dryer and check that, make sure all the 3 nuts are tight were your power cord connects to your dryer's terminal block.

OK, I pulled it out, disconnected the hose and power. The terminal block is tight as a tick. I ran it again and still no change.

What else shall I try?

You'll need a volt meter to check for 240 volts.

Check for 240 volts were your dryer cord connects to your dryer's terminal block in back of your dryer. Put your volt meter leads on both ends of the terminal block, should read 240 volts.

Remember Black & Red on the ends are HOT, White in the middle is NEUTRAL

Then put one of your meter leads in the middle of your terminal block and one on the end you should read 120 volts, then on the other end you should read 120 volts as well.

Just moving your dryer shouldn't have made it stop heating, thats why I don't think its your dryer. What main panel in your house did you change? Your electrical panel?

Hmmm, Ya I upgraded the main panel from a 150 AMP panel to a 200 AMP Panel. The breaker is a double pole 30AMP breaker. I'll check the wiring to be sure nothing is loose.

Ok, yes, I'll bet its something in when you changed the panel.

Well this was kind of kooky. I put the meter on the top two and got 120. I put the meter on the combo of the other terminals and got 0.

If I had to guess I would say a wire isn't attached in the breaker.

Yes, I agree. Its definitely a problem inside your electrical panel breaker to the dryer.

Go figure, the brand new breaker was bad. Thanks for the help. I needed a new test meter anyway. My old needle meter was about at the end of it's rope anyway.

Lesson learned though. Test all of the breakers before finishing the job.
