Default Fridge appears to be acting up again

Hello Jake,

After 3 days of working well, this fridge appears to be acting up again. About 30 minutes ago I noticed that the thermometer I had in the fresh food compartment was up to 56 degrees from the 38 degrees that it had been holding at. Likewise, the thermometer in the freezer side was up to 25 degrees from the 5 degrees it had been holding to. At this moment the compressor and the fans were not running. I tried adjusting the thermostat settings for both the freezer and fresh food compartments to their maximum settings, but the compressor and fans lay silent.

In the few minutes it took for me to run and get my tool box, the compressor and fans resumed operation and things are starting to cool down so I reset the thermostat back to their original positions (3 for the fresh food and 4 for the freezer on a scale of 1 to 9).

Is it possible that I caught it warming up just as it was finishing a defrost cycle? If not, what in the heck do you think happened?

Best regards,

Steve-J

Yes, that sounds like what happened Steve, give it overnight and see how it is in the morning.

Hello Jake,

I'm happy to report that my fridge has been cooling fine since last night. Hopefully the incident with the warm-up was nothing more than a normal defrost cycle. Sorry for the false alarm.

Best regards,

Steve
