I think my Maytag Performa (model #PYE4500AYW) might be on its last legs. For over a year, it would squeak a little, but not all the time. Now, when you turn it on, it squeaks/squeals all the time, sometimes very noisily. I'm afraid it might be bearings. Is there any hope? Could it possibly be a belt? Do I just use it until it dies, and if so, how long does it have to live?

It could be either the front pad kit, rear rollers or idler pulley or even worse the motor bearing.

Here's the front pad kit for your model:

Here's the rear roller kit:

Here's the idler pulley assembly:
Manufacturer part number 53-2287 is RepairClinic item number 607359

The first 3 I listed are fairly easy and inexpensive to fix, but the motor bearing would require a new motor, that would be costly.
