Default Where is the adaptive defrost control board located?

Hello-

I have determined I need an adaptive defrost control board for my Jenn Air refridgerator with the freezer on the bottom. Thanks to this forum I found out what the problem was based on the frost inside the freezer. Can anyone tell me where this item is located? Thanks

Hi,

Whats the model# of your refrigerator? and I can tell you. The model# tag is located inside the refrigerator section on the upper walls or ceiling.

Jake-

Thank you very much. I'm a little confused, though. I have to replace the entire temp. control board? The controls appear to be functioning fine otherwise and the little trap door in the refrigerator compartment opens and closes as it should, but I did have a lot of frost in the back of the freezer. Thanks

Yes, your adaptive defrost control is integrated into the temp. control board on your model.

Before you replace it, did you run the diagnostics mode on it for Forced Defrost?

Here's the tech. data sheet that explains how to do it:
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16027044.pdf

When you put it in Forced Defrost, let it stay in that mode for awhile and then check under your evaporator coil in the freezer to make sure the defrost heater is on.

If it starts defrosting properly and the defrost heater is on, then we know for sure your temp. control board will need to be replaced.

Let us know what happens.
