Hi all!
I have this Jenn Air Squirrel cage fan, I'de like to plug in and test! It has this FUNKY plug! What's with the plug? It has a regular rounded ground in the usual place, than it has ANOTHER ground looking prong? What's with this? Does it change any other the normal wiring? Ya know, White goes to White, Black to Black, Green is Ground? Many thanks!! Ted ![]() ![]() |

Hmm, very interesting, I've never needed to take one apart before to test it, so this is new to me as well, I'll ask Brian is he can help you.

The fan was only meant to be plugged into a range so that is the reason for the goofy plug. If you don't have the range (or model number of the range) then your best bet would be to use a multimeter and measure between the plugs to see which ones go to the motor coils. Then you can hot wire the thing to see if it works. With a model number I could possibly get some more accurate information, but that plug design hasn't been used for awhile on their slide in ranges. My guess is it is a single speed AC motor so you should read some low resistance between two of the plugs and infinity to the third. Just a guess.
