Default How do I remove the lower wash arm from a Maytag MDB4000 diswasher

I need someone's expert help. I cannot get the lower arm off. The middle nut just turns around. I can lift it, but it will not come through the arm.

How do I get the lower arm off of this dishwasher?

The dishwasher is making a grinding noise during the drain cycle and I want to check to see if there is some debris that needs to be removed.

Anyone have the answer?
