Default Jenn-Air JCD2295KEP Refrigerator

I have the Jenn Air above, it is making the clicking sound that, reading in the forums, is most likely the relay/overload near the compressor, I have a part number of 12555902. The guy at the parts store told me that the capacitor rarely goes. Can anyone say the same?

The difference with mine is that it is cooling fine and I'm not having issues with it maintaining termperature. Does anyone think that it might be another issue, it almost seems like the compressor at times starts fine. Does this relay maybe control something else as well? It sounds like when the compressor is turning on correctly it sounds different than when this clicking noise happens.

Just wanted to add the fridge is about three years old.

Yes, thats true, the capacitor rarely goes bad, 90% of the time its the relay/overload.

How often does it making the clicking sound?

Can you pinpoint the clicking sound? Pull your refrigerator out from the wall and take the lower back access panel off, then notice if you hear the clicking from the compressor relay assembly.

Relay/overload/capacitor assembly here for your model:
Manufacturer part number 67005560 is RepairClinic item number 1159182
67005560

Only other place it could click is inside the refrigerator section in your control temp. settings console. There is a circuit board in there.

The manufacturer has replaced part number 67005397 with this item, part number W10207861.) (Manufacturer part number W10207861 is RepairClinic item number 1468995.)
W10207861

Thanks, I have pulled the lower back panel but it did not make the sound for me to check. It does not do it with any regulalarity. It might do it 3 times in 5 minutes and then not do it for several hours. It is definately coming from the back though, as I left the panel off when I slid it back in and it is much louder now. Anyway are you sure the relay below is the right one. I was told the part is 12555902. The one in my Jenn Air is white not black. Could the relay be bad and the fridge still cool properly?

Yes, thats the correct relay/overload/capacitor assembly for your model, I double checked it.

Yes intermittently, or the compressor itself, but you have a 5 yr. parts & labor warranty on your compressor/sealed system.

Thanks for checking on the part. You were right! Anyway, got and installed it but it still does the same thing, thinking now that it is the compressor is bad. It seems that it works OK (20 minutes or so) until the compressor gets hot then the trouble starts. Maytag said they would pay for parts and labor on compressors as you said in your post. Thanks again.
