Thanks a lot Jake. I'm pretty handy at putting things together/replacing things. The directions appear to be very straight forward. Is this something someone typically can get done by themselves or would you recommend calling in someone?

What I usually say is if your mechanically inclined and have fixed other things around your house, then you should be able to do it.

Water Filter Assembly
1. Remove filter cover opening cover and pulling rear left
side of cover to the left to release cover from holding
pin.
2. Filter head can be released from holding bracket by
opening tabs on left side filter head and pulling
downward and to your left to release filter head.
3. Tubing needs to be disconnected from water valves
in the machine compartment. (see water valve
removal)
4. After tubing is loose from water valves pull the filter
head and tubing out the front of unit.
5. Reverse procedure to reassemble.
NOTE: Make sure to note tubing end colors when
reinstalling new head and tubing assembly.

Thanks Jake but I must be missing the link somehow. In your directions there is a part that says "(see water valve removal)". Am I supposed to be able to click on this? If so, it appears in regular text for me (I cannot click on it) and I do not see a link to water valve removal anywhere else on the post?
Thanks
Jay

Jake one addtional question. My brother was looking at the wate head filter and was concerned about pulling the filter through the styrofoam piece leading into the fridge. Should this be of concern? I don't see any mention of it in your instructions.
Thanks
Jay

I'm experiencing the same symptoms with my MAYTAG fridge. My model is MFI2568AEW. Its French door style with water and ice on the left door. Would the part mentioned above fit my model as well?
Thx,
Jay

Hi Jay,
No, your model uses this one here:
Manufacturer's Number: 12956202

Unfortunately I don't have the instructions to tell you how to do it on this model.
