septic not draining affecting spin cycle?
I have a performa washer that sometimes leaves the clothes soaked at the end of the cycle. I also believe there is a problem with the septic not draining properly here. It was pumped recently and filled up way too quickly again. Nothing is backing up in the house or yard but again I think its very slow to drain. I have stood and listened to the washer spin a couple times and it clearly is not spinning fast enough. It has a 2 speed motor and I can tell when its spinning high. My question is what exactly triggers it to switch from the low speed to high? If the water is slow to drain from the septic and the main drain line from the house still has water backed up into it, could this cause the washer to sense too much water in the line and not trigger the high speed spin, or is it something completely different thats wrong with the washer?

On this model what triggers it is when all the water is done draining out of the machine, the motor clutch pivot assembly senses it and starts to spin at high speed.
The normal drain time for all washers is 90 seconds or less. So if your septic can't take the normal drain flow out of the machine, you'll have troubles with wet clothes at the end of the final spin.

so is the clutch pivot assembly a serviceable part I could replace to see if it helps?

Yes, but is it draining all the water within 90 seconds when it goes into the drain spin cycle?
Whats the model# of your washer?

PAV2300AWW, I think it does drain all the water but alot stays in the line. I have multiple problems maybe. One is that my drain line goes up like 7 feet which may be too high. Also the washer is constantly getting out of balance.

Thanks,
Yea, this issue may be a tough one to solve with the conditions its in as you have it.
Because if the water don't drain within 90 seconds no matter what, nothing will solve the spin dry issue.

I had an intermitant no drian issue on a Maytag Neptune. What finally fixed it was a new drain pump. Replaced good parts to find this out. Pete
