Default Epic Z Water Level Measure

I have a Maytag Epic Z washer. Since installing it I'm getting quite a bit of water hammer wehn the washer runs that I've never had before. I wanted to try turning down the water flow by closing off the valves halfway but I'm not sure if this washer measures water by measuring the time in which case I'd be cutting off the amount of water it gets)or if it measures volume in the washer (in which case I'd just be adding a little time that it needs to fill the drum).

Does anybody know how this washer works?

Thanks

-Scott

Yes Scott, it measures it by the time and the volume, meaning if the water takes to long to fill, then you will get an error code and the washer will stop completely and flash the error code.

If no error code, then it should be fine, then the water will stop coming in one the water level pressure tells it to stop.

So yes, try to turn the water down and see what happens.

If it still does it, then the problem is not your water pressure, its the water inlet valve in your washer, you have a full warranty on it from Maytag if your washer is new.

Thanks for the info. I'll give this a try. However, if I still get the water hammer couldn't it still be an issue outside of the washer itself, like that i need to better secure my pipes and/or add a pressure arrestor? Or do you feel that it would be within the washer itself?

No, It would be inside the washer, more than Likely a defective water inlet valve inside your washer.
