Default Maytag MDB5601 -- Won't start/NO lights

Model Number: MDB5601AWW
Brand: Maytag
Age: 1 -5 years

Serial number is 37164793LN

I have a Maytag (about 1.5 years old). For a while it has had intermittent problems (the buttons wouldn't respond, but would if you waited 5 or 10 minutes).

As of today, there are NO lights on the control pad and it won't do anything. I have confirmed that it has power. I have checked the door switch with a multimeter and it seems to be functioning properly.

From what I've read in other posts, I'm guessing I'm going to have to purchase a new control pad, but not sure if I need a control board, too or both.

Is there anything else I can be checking before I sink money into this. I would hate to order these parts and find that it's not the problem. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Thanks.

Thanks Glenn,

Here's the tech data sheet for your model, you can actually test the control panel continuity with an ohm meter:
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16026393.pdf
You can print this out to read it better.

But from all the ones I've changed for this issue, its always been the control panel.

Here's the control panel for your model you can order:
Manufacturer's Number: 6-919821

Default Thanks!

Thanks, Jake. I'll check out the manual for some tests and probably end up ordering that part.
