Default Gas range Burner Igniter does not Stop Sparking

I have a Jen-Air Gas Range (CVGX2423B) where one burner will light but the igniters (all four of them) will not stop sparking and clicking even when the burner is lit. The other three burners will turn off the igniters after they are lit, but not the one in question.

thanks

Hi,

I haven't worked on this model before, but it sounds like your igniter switch that sits on your valve stem to that burner is bad. They call it a box switch, you have one on each burner valve stem.

Here's the one for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: Y706061

Here's the repair manual for this model you can print out:

Remember always turn the breaker off to your range before opening it up!

I purchased the part listed above and when I received it in the mail it became very obvious that this part does nothing with the igniter process. This part is just the light (light bulb) that turns on around the switch to indicate that it is on. If by chance it does do something with the igniter, very unlikely since it is located no where near the burner or igniter and all I can see in the part are four LED lights, there is still the problem of the igniter sparking continuously while the fire is burning at the burner. This part did not solve the problem.

Sorry about that, that was my fault, you can return the part for a full refund, I'll even pay for your shipping back, just PM me the shipping cost.

I'll also refund your membership fee here for the trouble.

Like I said, I haven't worked on this model, I assumed the box switch was the igniter switch.

Hopefully another tech. or member thats had the problem can assist you further.

Jake
