Default [FIXED] Water/Ice dispenser problem

Hello,

I have a Maytag MZD2766GEB wide by side refrigerator and the panel for the Ice/water dispenser is not lit or working. Only if I push the switch (where the cup pushes) will the led light for my selection and the night light will come on, but nothing happens. Is this a circuit board problem?

Thanks

----Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes, it sounds like your dispenser board is bad. I have replaced a few of these myself for this same issue.

Here's the dispenser control board for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 61005274

61005274

Its #12 here:

The instructions to get access to it are here:

Sorry to hear it didn't fix it, not sure what else is causing it, unless you have a short in your wiring harness to the dispenser, check your connector, its usually located under the top freezer door hinge cover, or lower freezer door hinge cover.

What should I look for as far as voltages for each of those wires? Also there is a tan wire between the control panel and the ice maker ---- what is it for??

Thanks

And I thought this would be a simple fix...

Here's the repair manual for your model#:
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16010154.pdf
3-8 and 3-10 explains what the voltage should be and diagnostic checks on it. You can print it out as well.

Not sure what that tan wire is for, the repair manual should say.

Hello Jake,

Turns out it was the Fountain Heater, why they designed it so that malfunction causes complete failure of the Ice/Water Dispenser is beyond me The board looks for 4300 ohms in this unit. I am back in business. Thanks for you help. Where can I make a donation to this site?? It has been an asset to me.
