Default Maytag Neptune

Model MAH3000AWW
Serial 37298851WD

Machine was doing a load of wash. I came down to change loads and it was stopped in the middle of the cycle. I restarted it, and the machine does the following things ...

Drum turns normal at wash speed, in both directions.
The timer does not advance
the "door locked" light does not come on, nor is the door locked.
Does not fast spin
When I manually advance the timer, I will get a 1 second spurt of water, then it stops.

Is it the door lock wax motor?

Hi,

Looks like this is a 1999 model Neptune, have you had any work done on it at all since you've owned it?

You will not only need the wax motor kit, but also the main control board.

And if you haven't had the new motor conversion kit installed yet, you will likely need that as well.

These Neptune's have had lots of recalls on them in the last 10 years.

Here's the main control board for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 22002988

22002988

Here's the door latch wax motor for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 12002535

12002535

Replaced the door latch wax motor ... and that did not fix it, so onto the control board.

The R11 resistor is fried. Has anybody ever tried just replacing the resistor? I would like to try that first and spend one dollar before replacing the whole board.

The question is how many ohm resistor is it? Anybody know? (that means you Jake ... ha ha)

Thanks for your help !!!

One more question ...

I looked up the control panel and you note ... "burned resistor on board indicates another problem in the machine"

... what does that mean?

The only think I have done to the machine so far was replace the timer ... 3 weeks after it was brand new, and I did seals and bearings.

Not me, you can do a forum search for R11 resistor and see if other members have.

Nope, I don't know.

It means your wax motor was the cause, so now that you replaced that, then the new control board should not fry that R11 resistor ever again.

Replaced the R 11 Resistor, and the Q6 triac, and the wax motor ...

Less than 20 dollars ... all is working good so far ...
