Also leaking water under freezer. Found condensation drain clogged and cleaned it out. The coil above the drain was a solid block of ice. I dethawed it but did not want to put it back together before finding out if the clogged drain was related to the frozen coil or if they are separate issues. I'm guessing the frozen coil has caused the fridge side to stop cooling but is that issue caused by a faulty part? I should add that the freezer is cooling properly, it's just the fridge that isn't very cool.

The evaporator coil above the drain was a solid block of ice? Not frost?
If it was Ice, sounds like possibly your ice maker fill tube is out of place or water is leaking from your ice maker onto your evaporator coil when your ice maker fills with water. Jake

The coils were connected by the ice and it took me about 45 mins to defrost it. I will check the tube to the ice maker. Would the frozen coil have caused the fridge to not cool properly?

Jake,
I apologize but I submitted a question again about this problem before remembering that I had done so before. The first time I submitted a question I thought it was a one time thing but the coils turn to a block of ice every couple of months. Would it be the defrost thermostat and heater causing this? Can you give me the correct part number? thank you |
