Default Jenn Air Mdl# W156W touch pad issues

I have a Jenn Air wall oven, model W156W with touch pad issues. The appliance does not display any fault code or beep but all of the control pads except the Probe pad are not responding. The Probe pad appears to work correctly as does the clock set controls and the clock itself. How can I confirm the touch pad-front panel assembly is bad and not the timer circuit board.

Hi,

This must be an older model, I can't locate a tech. data sheet for it online. But the tech. data sheet should be located in your control console behind the touchpad assembly.

Make sure you turn your breaker off to your wall oven first before opening it up!

But to me it sounds like a bad touchpad assembly.

Thanks for the response. This is an older unit, purchased from a builders supply warehouse in 95 but the code on the timer board indicates the unit was built in 91. The data sheet in the back of the unit does not have a detailed schematic or a test chart for the touch pad. Based on your counsel and everything I have done, I believe it's the touch pad assembly as well. The picture in your response looks correct......except my unit has a white face. I'm hoping these typically came in two colors and my unit isn't a one off.

Unfortunately it only comes in black now. They have discontinued the white one for some reason.
