Water turned on to refill the ice maker and did not stop. Perhaps I am lucky that the flooding spread through the kitchen when I found it with only some wood floor damage. I quickly swam through the water to my fridge, opened the freezer and wiggled the metal arm to turn off the ice maker, the inlet water valve shut, and stopped the flow of water. So I think that means the inlet valve is working and I need to replace the ice maker. But before plopping down over $100 I wanted to make sure it was not a different problem.
