Default Maytag mzd2667hes Not Cooling

I know there are several threads on this...but I did not find
one that matched my situation. My Freezer and Fridge do not get cold.
At first the Compressor was not coming on, so I ended up replacing the relay...well now the compressor comes on....but the fridge and freezer are still not getting cold.....thoughts?

Hi,

Ok, Take the food out of your freezer, then take the shelves out, then remove the lower back access panel#19 here:

Then check your evaporator coils, do they have any frost on them at all?

actually there would not be any Frost, because I just bought this unit and plugged it in once I got it home. I noticed the compressor was not coming on...so I replaced the relay and the overload switch....the compressor does turn on at that point....but it never gets cold.

So you bought this brand new or used from an appliance shop or private party?

Whenever you buy a refrigerator you always have to give it 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize, but you should start to notice cooling within about 2-4 hours.

Now if you bought this brand new, Contact the store where you bought it from or Maytag directly, you have a full warranty, a tech. will come out for free to see whats going on.

If you bought it used, and the compressor has been running for 2-4 hours with no cooling whatsoever, then your sealed system is failed and your looking at big money to have a tech. come out to fix it.
