Default Maytag heating problems

For the last year the range would take like 5 minutes to come on and start heating up after you turned on the temp. We discovered that by turning it on and waiting about a minute, then turning on a burner ignitor, it would kick the oven part on right away. Now it has gotten so bad it sometimes will not come on at all but if we do get it to come on it will heat up to the original temp, but not turn back on to stay up to temp during baking. From what I see searching the forums it looks like a heating element of sorts is bad. There is no glow or gas sound or anything coming out.

Secondly, where exactly is the model number, I do not see it anywhere.

Yes, it sounds like the oven igniter glow bar went out completely.

I always get my volt meter out and check for 120 volts at the oven glow bar connector with the oven turned on, if I get 120 volts at the connector, then its definitely a bad glow bar.

The model# should be located on the very bottom frame after you pull the storage drawer out or pull the lower access panel off, just unsnaps. If the model# isn't there, check the very top on the console or even behind the console I've seen some with a little tag on it that pulls up.

Thanks,

Here's the oven igniter glow bar for your model you can order:
Manufacturer part number 12400035 is RepairClinic item number 3377
12400035

Its easy to replace, just take the bottom oven panel from inside your oven off, then you remove the flame spreader metal shield, then you will see the oven igniter mounted on your burner tube, just remove the oven igniter off from your burner tube and install the new one.

The wiring is below the oven, just remove the storage drawer and get a flashlight/floodlight to see better.

I pulled the burner tube up also to clean everything. Does the tube just sit down on there? It doesn't have to click into anything because I can not see underneath to make sure, I just set it right back in and it went in real easy. I just want to make sure I do not create any gas leaks, it doesn't seem like much to secure that tube.

Oh and is it OK if the ignitor wires are touching the burner tube?

Yes, it just mounts very simple in place.
