Default Neptune MAH3000Aww Five second run issue.

Greetings:

My problem is slightly different than what we've read from other posters issues in this fine forum:

If you hold the washers start button down at start of wash, it will only fill for about 5 seconds, then it goes dead, nothing.

It will drain if ya keep holding the start button down, but the "on" light goes off.

My serial number: 352 702 57WB
Neptune front load MAH 3000 AWW

Purchased new about 1999 / 2000.
What do you recommend, and as long as I have the beast apart, what else should I do?

Thank you for your time, takes, tips and tales.

Ok, Motherboard, motor conversion kit, door latch assembly.

WORD OF WARNING:
Unfortunately, if you do a forum search for your model, you can see all those parts have been constantly failing on these models since day 1. So I'd advise you to consider not throwing money into this unit, as if you fix one thing, another part will go out, you may need to get all the updated parts to properly fix it to last another 10 years, and with that said your looking at about the price of a new washer.

Maytag has had numerous recalls on this model.
Here's the repair manual for your model:
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16010061.pdf

The main control board is likely causing this problem, as Maytag had many problems with the early Neptune's doing this.

Here's the main control board for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 22002988

22002988

Whenever you change the main control board you also have to change the door wax motor as well.

Here's the door latch wax motor for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 12002535

12002535
