Default [FIXED] Admiral HMG 671860 water on floor

A couple of times now I have found a puddle on the floor in front of my side by side. It is about 5 inches in front of the fridge part. I do not see a line coming from the fridge or freezer. I looked at the fridge door & all is dry. I looked under the fridge & I see dirt & dust, but no wetness. Where can this puddle be coming from? I am not the orginal owner so I am not sure exactly when it was purchased. The fridge is cold & all in the freezer is frozen. Thanks for your help. Jina

Hi Jina,

Your defrost drain hole/line may be clogged, thus putting water on your floor instead of in the defrost drain pan thats located under your refrigerator.

Turn your refrigerator/freezer temp control to OFF then Take the food out of your freezer, then take the shelves out, then take off your lower back panel inside your freezer, its #20 here:
http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_pn...1575-00013.png

Then see if your drain trough that sits in the very bottom back under your evaporator coils in the freezer is clogged with ice. If so, get a hair dryer and hot water to melt it.

Also run something down the drain hole.

I use a evaporator cooler spider snake:
http://www.azpartsmaster.com/Products/Cooler-Spider-Snake__CLR4690.aspx

They are used basically in Arizona to clean out the water pump tubes that run to the cooler pads.

I don't know if they would sell them in your area, but if you go to your local hardware store, they should have something similar to run down your drain to clean it completely out.

Jake-Before I had a chance to post again, I found what I think is the problem. There was a frozen chunk on the bottom of the freezer. I chipped it off. I removed everything from the bottom bin, but I am wondering if the problem is the condenser. Will it freeze up again? Thanks/Jina

No, its what I posted above thats happening.

Your drain hole/line is clogged, once you remove that back panel you will see.

Jake-We were not able to get that snake, however we did everything else. There was a huge ice block that I got rid of. Problem: The hole inside the drip tray inside the freezer does not line up exactly with the tube-as a result when we poured hot water into the drip tray, the water went thru the hole in the drip tray, but missed the tube & instead came out the front of the freezer. I hope this makes sense. Can you help us with this? My frozen food is thawing right this very moment. Thanks/Jina

Ok, try to re-align the drain trough with the hole, best you can.

The metal drain trough#23 should be connected to the back metal shield#32 of your evaporator coils#31 here:
http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_pn...1575-00015.png
There should be a couple screws that you can loosen on that metal shield and re-align it.

Unfortunately, not much, unless you break the rivets.

Just line it up the best you can and see what happens.

Hi-I packed in plumbers putty under the tray & I used floral wire to snake
the tube. It went in about 30 inches & pushed out some junk. This morning there was no water on the floor, but FINALLY there was some in the tray under the fridge. Im not sure if this is a temporary fix, but it worked! Thanks you VERY much for your help. Jina
