Angry Maytag 300 Series Control Panel Question...

My dishwasher will not start. It has been acting up for a few months now, but it has totally flipped out on me now.

When I press start, it acts like I am hitting the delay start key. It will cycle through the delay start options, but will not start the washer. This is the newest stunt...before this it was refusing to start at all, or would only start on certain cycles, and was constantly changing its mind about which one it liked to start on. Sometimes delay start was the only way to get it to work.

I took the thing apart and looked at the control panel. The one under the black cover looks visually fine, but the strip running from the touchpad to the control box has a bit of rusty looking stuff on the inside of the strip.

Here is my bottom line question: Do I need to go through the testing of the panel and box, or do I just need to get a new touch pad? (for $157.00 )

Thanks,

Nichola

Hi Nichola,

Whats the complete model# of your dishwasher? Its located inside the door on the top or side tub frame.

Its likely you will just need the control panel. Once you post your model# I can see if I find you a better price.

I've checked 3 online appliance store sites, they are all the same price, thats kinda unusual, usually I find one cheaper at one of the sites, you can order it here:
Manufacturer part number 6-919822 is RepairClinic item number 1469713

Ok, sounds good.

Yes, Dishwashers are about $399 and up for new ones.

Let us know how it goes.
