Default msd2756dew Runs for long periods during summer

My MSD2756DEW runs for excessive time under regular use but seemingly only during the summer. THis started last spring with the typical warm frig compartment cold freezer. I found the coils frosted so I replaced the ADC board. The new one had a diagnostic LED. Once I defrosted the coils it seemed to still have a problem frosting up and the LED had the 3 blink code for excessive compressor run time. I took to running maunal defrosts with the test terminal to keep the compartment cold and I ordered another new ADC. Then came fall and cooler weather and the frig started running fine, no more 3 blink codes and no more need to do manual defrosts, so I never installed the second new ADC. Then came this summer and the problems returned. If the frig sits unopened for a day or so it seems to catch up cooling and then start running fine, I have even seen the ADC LED indicate it had initiated a defrost. I was wondering if this might be a bad temperture control, or any other place to look. The doors appear to be closing tight and the seals do not appear to be damaged. I have cleaned the coil in the rear and all the fans appear to be running. When it is running excesively it appears that the defrost cycle is not engaging, I was wondering if the ADC won't initiate a defrost if it thinks the compartment has not cooled effectively i.e. the excessive compressor run time problem blocks the defrost. Any help is appreciated.
Glenn

Longer run times are pretty much the norm in the summer months. Check your door gaskets to make sure they are sealing against your cabinet good, any air leak would certainly enhance this.

Also pull your refrigerator out from the wall and clean your condenser in the back with a vacuum or brush. Make sure your condenser fan is blowing good.

How warm is it in your kitchen in the summer months? I've been out on service calls where they have no AC in the house and during the hot summer months the refrigerator has a hard time keeping up with cooling.

I don't think your ADC is the problem, and I don't know the answers to those questions your asking about the ADC, possibly another tech. can answer those.

Thanks Jake, It can be warm in the kitchen but no more than in the other years when we did not have the problem. I looked at the gaskets, they seem tight, but is there any good way to check? There looks like a slight gap at the corners where the magnetic surface touches the cabinet but this is where the cabinet creates a bump in the metal. Are there any spots on the inside of the cabinet where there might be air leaks that I could seal up?

Nope Glenn, if the door gaskets are sealing properly then there shouldn't be anymore places the air can get in.

Check your condenser coils in the back, if they are clogged up with lots of pet hair/lint/dirt that will effect the cooling and longer than normal run times as well.
