I have an Admiral 30” Gas Oven. There is no plate on the door or inside the oven, so I do not know the model. I bought it from a warehouse in January 2006. It appeared to be in its original box.
It has been working perfectly up until recently when it began beeping and displaying the fault code F1. I called a repairman who, when he plugged the oven back in, could not get the beeping or code to appear. He did say that the problem was probably with the touch pad, but without the model number there was little he could do. Eventually, I was able to identify the ERC model number, but not the oven or touch pad (sticker on touch pad shows the following) 7721037 Lakeside 3193 Several weeks later, the beeping and fault code reappeared. I read the information on ApplianceAid.com and RepairClinic.com. I disconnected the touch pad from the ERC, reconnected power and nothing happened. I waited an hour and still nothing. No beeping, no F1. I disconnected power, plugged in the touch pad ribbon and reconnected power; the beeping started almost immediately along with the F1. I then carefully unplugged the touch pad ribbon and the beeping and fault code continued. However, when I disconnected and then reconnected the power, there was no beeping and no F1. If I correctly understand the TIP on the ApplianceAid website, this all indicates a bad touch pad, is that correct? The only part number I can find for the touch pad is RepairClinic’s item number, not the original part number — I already determined that the part number RepairClinic uses for the ERC is NOT the original number that appears on a sticker on the ERC. I would like to search for the best price for the touch pad, but I need to find the original part number. Is there some way to find that original part number when you do not have the oven’s model number? Is there a way to find the oven’s model number? (I took the oven out and searched top to bottom for some identification, but found none.). |

Yes, sounds like the control panel is bad.
How did you find even RepairClinic's item# without the model# of your range? Look on the very top console of your range, or look on the very bottom front frame after you pull out the storage drawer. Jake

Thank you for the confirmation.
I located both the ERC and Touch pad on RepairClinic by doing a search by brand, appliance type, and part type; comparing the parts displayed to what I had in front of me. It was after I removed the ERC that I saw the sticker with a bunch of numbers. One turned out to be the part number and when I entered that into the search argument the site displayed the same item I had already identified. By looking at the photos of the front and back, I was able to identify the parts I had. What I have is a wall-oven that we built into a custom cabinet. I have heard that the identification tag is supposed to be around the oven door opening, but it is conspicously absent. When I did not find it there, I removed the oven from the cabinet (not an easy task by yourself) and searched every inch of the exterior for some identifying information. I found none. This now makes me suspicious about why it was such a good deal. However, it has worked these past few years and we have been very happy with the oven... until now. Is there some website that lists Admiral products and characteristics, along with photos that I could search for my oven? How about doing a reverse search using the ERC part number to find what products it was installed in (I know that part is also used in Whirlpool ovens)? Thanks again for your assistance. Now I have to try and diagnose what is wrong with my Kenmore washer. Again, a touchpad problem. |

Ahh, I see now.

Probably the best thing to do since you don't have a model# that you can use online for part searches, is to take the control panel down to your local appliance part store in your area to see if they can match it up. Jake
