Default [FIXED] Maytag MDG5500AWW; stops heating

I have a Maytag Neptune MDG5500AWW gas dryer - it heats for three minutes in either sensor or time dry modes, then the gas shuts off.

So far I have run diagnostics - 00 code
Checked continuity of the following items:
Holding/Boosting coil
Secondary coil
Igniter
Radiant sensor
High limit

The only anomaly is that the holding/boosting coil has three tabs for the electrical connection. The tab closest to the front and the tab closest to the back have continuity with each other. The middle tab does not register continuity with either tab. Could that be the issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes, its your gas coils that are bad.

Here's the gas coil kit for your model you can order:
Part#694540
Gas valve solenoid coil kit, 2 and 3 wire, new style
(The manufacturer has replaced part number 694540 with this item, part number 279834.)

279834
