Unhappy [FIXED] Admiral Washer doesn't drain completely

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post.

I have an "Admiral Heavy Duty Extra Capacity Plus" washing machine (can't find a model number but it's direct-drive) that stops draining with about 1/4 of the water left in the tub.

I took of the top end of the fill sensor hose and blew compressed air through it in case of blockages.

I took off the pump which seems to turn freely.

What else should I check?

Default Canadian Admiral washer

Thanks Jake,

I just located the Model # under the edge at the back of the lid.
It's an AP 44000.

My brother said it might also be a solenoid on the drain valve. But I can't find a solenoid. Do some machines have another kind of switch/valve?

Red face

Hi Stephen,

I think so, I've never timed it. They say it should take under two minutes, correct? I've got it all apart, but I'll check it.

Red face OK, Thanks.

Thanks Stephen and Jake.

I didn't know how to time the drain (I think the pump was running all through the final spin) but this time when I set-up the machine I took great care to 'straighten' the drain hose, to allow optimum flow, and it worked.

So it was probably the hose after all. Thanks Stephen for getting me to consider the hose again.

And thanks Jake for this WONDERFUL RESOURCE!
