Default Myatag MSD2456DEW freezer iced up on the bottom, freezer and fridge not colling, still gets power

Myatag MSD2456DEW

The bottom of the freezer is a block of ice, it still gets power because the light comes on when you open the door, the freezer and the fridge are not cooling at all.

In the past we have had it freeze up on the bottom and simply had to defrost the condenser coils and make sure the drain tube is defrosted. Since then a copper wire has been routed from the heating element down into the defroster drain tube to keep it from freezing up.

Is it likely to be the same problem causing the freezer and fridge not to cool?

Yes, possibly, do you hear the freezer fan running in the freezer?

Pull your refrigerator out from the wall, then take the lower access panel off and see if your compressor and condenser fan motor that sits next to the compressor are running.

Clear all the ice out from the bottom of your freezer.
