Default Maytag MDBD850AWW isn't rinsing

After a couple of loads of dishes coming out as dirty as when I put them in I discovered the bottom unit which spins and sprays water appears to be sticking. If I turn it manually, it spins freely about 1/3 of a turn or so then turns much harder but then frees up again. I wanted to take it out to see if something was stuck but I'm not sure how to do it. Any ideas?

Hi,

It sounds like your pump/motor assembly is starting to go out on you.

Here's the repair manual for your model, page 4-16 is the pump/motor section:

You can also print out the pages you need.

Here's the pump/motor assembly for your model:

Thanks! I opened it up and it turns out the micro filter was somehow warped. I suspect from the heating unit. Picking up a new one today.

Excellect Dave, good job finding that.

Let me know what happens when you get the new one installed.
