Default Maytag Oven Overheats

I ahave a Maytag electric double oven that overheats. When you turn on the top oven to any temperature, both elements come on and get extremely hot very quickly.

Hi,

Whats the model# of your Maytag? Its located either inside the oven door, or on the very bottom frame.

So if you turn your oven on to 350 degrees, both elements heat up? Do they turn off once it hits 350? Then does just the bake element cycle on after that?

Default Maytag double oven overheating

Both elements come on untilit reaches 500 or so then turns off. It only does this on the top oven only. When it first happened "bake" showed up on the control panel but it doesnt anymore.

Ok, its either the oven sensor or the control board.

To test the oven sensor, unplug the range or turn the breaker off to it, then ohm the sensor with an ohm meter, the normal reading will be 1100 ohms at room temperature.
