Default [FIXED] JennAir WW27210B Double Oven- Need Help

Jennair Double oven bake element would not heat. I tested the element and it is good...Used ohmeter. I opened up the contol panel and swapped the broil power lead with the bake power lead and turned on the bake switch. The bake element came on and worked. So I have ordered part 71002215 the clock control panel as this appears to be the cause.

The bottom oven was working ok until I opened the control panel. Now the bottom oven does heat but it is very slow to come to temperature. I set it to 400 and it feels very hot in about 15 to 20 mins which is pretty slow. THe green indicator stays on. If I rotate the temp to a lower setting the green light will go out to indicate the desired temp is met but it is way less than what I wanted. Curious as to what I need to check to fix this oven. It has worked flawlessly until the initial no heat bake element in the upper oven..

THanks

Default Addlitional info on my Jennair ww27210B

Jake,

Here is some more info on my double wall oven:

1. Regular Bake does not work - lower element does not heat
2. COnvect Bake and Convect Roast work but slow to heat to temperature over 15 mins to get to 350 is not acceptable During heating I could hear the relay switching on and off

3.Bake is slow to heat on lower..Broil is slow to heat on lower

To trouble shoot upper bake cycle I checked the element with ohmeter and it was good. Using the control panel I swapped the wire for the bake and broil and turned on the broil and the bake element worked. I assumed this meant tjat the problem is the control/clock panel.

Today I decided to test the other controls I selected the convect bake and found this to be working but slowly to 350. Once it got to 350 I bumped the temp to 425. Took 2 mins to get to 355. 4 mins to 425. This seems normal I think....

The convect roast is similar...Takes a while intially to get to temperature.

Now for the lower oven...If I set the bake dial and turn it up to 500 it starts to warm but never glows red....Takes a long time for it to get up to any temp...Say I set to 400....Wait 15 mins...Turn the temp dial down to about 200 and the indicator light goes out indicating that the oven is at 200.

Need help...XMAS is coming and i need the ovens to work or my wife will kill me. I order the controller/clock P/N 71002215 from sears as they had a rebuilt for 139.99 but wont be here till Wed. I want to verify that I am on the right track...I could hear the relays kicking in during the warm up on the convect bake and roast setttings....I just dont know where to look...

Yes, sounds like to me its the clock/oven control board thats bad.

Here's the 71002215, its more costly(its new, not rebuilt), but you can get it faster here:
Manufacturer part number 71002215 is RepairClinic item number 695518

Default Jennair Double Oven

Thanks Jake. But I have another question on this oven. The bottome oven uses a separate manual control switch and temperature control.. Are these tied into the clock controller? I can understand why the upper oven bake will not work, but I do not understand why the bottom oven is working stranglely. The slow heat up and not getting to temperature...The upper oven convect bake/roast works slow to temp as well but I thought the controls were separate? Your input is welcome.

Thanks Again

Yes.

Nope.

That clock/oven control board should fix it all for you.

Thanks Jake...Just replace the clock/controller and it fixed the upper bake problem...Still seems a bit slow to heat the upper oven but it appears to be working...When I re-opened the clock area, I did find a black wire labelled Therm2 that had become disconnected...Using the wiring diagram, I cannot find where it went too. The bottom oven is still working oddly...I am wondering if this is the problem...

Jake,

Sorry to bother...But I just found where the black wire goes...It must have came off the lower oven switch when I initially pulled the clock/control out...I was able to find it on the wiring diagram...Connected it and now the lower oven works...

The new clock/controller also fixed the initial problem of the upper oven bake not working...
However, the upper oven appears to be slow to heat to 350...It took almost 10 minutes...It may be normal as I do not use the oven much...

Let me know how long it should take to heat...thanks..

Sounds like you got it.

Yes, 10-15 minutes to heat to 350 is normal on all ovens.
