My Maytag Neptune electric dryer has a baffle coming loose. I'd like to know what size of screws I need in case they are lost and secondly how difficult to correct this problem. Any diagrams or step by step procedures of disassembly would be ideal. Thank you for your assistance.
Read page 5-1 to remove the front panel and 5-2 for the top. Then read 6-4 for the baffles.
I'm not sure what size screw it is for the baffles, you can remove another screw from the baffle and take it to your local hardware store or appliance parts store in your area and they can match it up.
A bit of a time saver for all with this problem. Simply remove the front panel and you will have access to the bottom the tumbler. Line up the baffles, start the 5/16" bolts by hand and tight up with a socket wrench. Reverse the process and you finished.
A pointer, now is a good time to vacuum out the bottom of the dryer, but do so carefully.
