Unhappy new freezer bulb not working

I have a Maytag Plus 23.5 cu. ft. bottom freezer refrigerator. The bulb in the freezer blew the other day, so I got a new one and put it in and the new bulb doesn't work either. Any ideas or suggestions on what might be the problem?

Sometimes when a appliance bulb feels like its tight in the socket, it really isn't. Try to turn it abit more, but don't force it if it doesn't want to turn.

You can also try just putting a regular 60 watt light bulb in to see if that works.

If it does, then the light bulb you bought for it is defective.

Default new freezer bulb not working

After further investigation, I found that the bulb that was originally in the frig. was O.K. and the new bulb I got works also.
Could it be lever or switch that turns it on could be bad? I pressed in it and it felt like it didn't have much pressure against it. Is it supposed to have any type of pressure or is it supposed to be loose.

G'day,

The light switch -may- be bad....how to check a common light switch.

I'm with Jake....sometimes the bulb just doesn't "home" all the way in the socket or the small solder tab on the bulb end isn't big enough to seat in the light socket correctly.
